Sustainability report

Committed to sustainability

It’s one thing for a company to say they’re sustainable or engaged in sustainable development. It’s quite another for that company to actually back up the claim with substantive action. The proof, as they say, is in the pudding. At ACCIONA, we very clearly and openly demonstrate our commitment to sustainability on an annual basis. Concern for sustainable development has gathered enormous momentum in the last decade. Even though it is a fashionable term, few have a real understanding of its meaning.

Real sustainable development should integrate three factors: economic development, protection of the environment and social responsibility. According to the Brundtland Report, sustainable development is that which satisfies the needs of the current generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

Each year ACCIONA publishes a Sustainability Report as part of our annual financial reporting process. In line with our commitment to transparency, ACCIONA engages an Independent Committee of Experts to provide an assessment of the report, which is included at the end of the report. This report gives our shareholders, stakeholders and the public a summation of our sustainable efforts.
