"The creation of sustainable infrastructure through stakeholder partnership and participation is the new paradigm for construction around the world." —Bob Park

Bob Park joined ACCIONA Infrastructures in Hong Kong in 1993, acting in such capacities as General Manager, Project Director and finally, in 2005, Area Director, International Construction, bringing the North American market under his management. Bob moved to Canada in April 2007 to become President and to establish the head office for ACCIONA Infrastructures Canada in Vancouver.

Bob is responsible for the development and operations of North American activities and the overall management of the company’s operations in North America, currently considered the fastest-growing market for ACCIONA’s services. In the first 18 months of his leadership, the company won bids for two major construction projects: the Nouvelle Autoroute 30 in Montreal, QC, and the Royal Jubilee Hospital Patient Care Centre in Victoria, BC. The company continues to grow rapidly in Canada and increasingly in the U.S., having a particular focus on the fast-growing public-private partnership (P3) market in transportation and social infrastructure. P3 projects are increasing in popularity with public institutions in Canada and the U.S. as a method of providing the financing, construction and operation of new infrastructure.

Bob brings with him many years of experience in P3 projects from his time with ACCIONA in Hong Kong. During that time, Bob served as Project Director of joint ventures for high-profile, multi-billion-dollar projects, such as Kowloon Station on the Lantau and Airport Railway development and as a member of the Supervisory Board on the iconic Ting Kau Bridge. The bridge is a state-of-the-art structure and regarded as one of Hong Kong’s landmark feats of engineering. Other projects include major road and rail structures and the first road/rail P3 project in the Far East: Eastern Harbour Crossing, Hong Kong.

In addition to many years with ACCIONA, Bob has worked for two other international construction firms, for a total of over 30 years of experience in major infrastructure projects in Europe, the Middle East and the Far East. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, UK.  He is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK), the Institution of Highways and Transportation (UK) and the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers.  Over a number of years in Hong Kong, Bob served as a board member of the Lighthouse Club, an international construction industry charity providing support to the families of victims of construction industry accidents.
